If you are a dog or animal lover, read on to find out how you can help dogs in need and also get yourself a cute, trendy graphic tee. These graphic t-shirts were d
esigned specifically for dog lovers. Not only can you show some love for your loyal companion by getting one, but 20% of the profits from all t-shirt sales will be donated to support our local humane society: Cedar Bend Humane Society in Waterloo, Iowa.

Curious where this idea began? Read on to discover my story and why I decided to find a way to support this great cause! I will link all 4 graphic tees below along with a link to the Cedar Bend Humane Society if you are looking to donate or volunteer. If you are looking to adopt a dog, you can also help by giving one of these amazing dogs a forever home for the New Year!

I did not discover I was a dog person until I was almost 30 years old. Not only did I discover that I was a dog person, but I was one of those crazy dog moms that their furry babies become their children. Our beagle slept with us, went to run errands with us, and went on vacation with us. Pretty much anywhere we were able to take him, he went with us. We even got one of those baby strollers you attach to the back of your bike so he could go on bike rides with us.

I met my husband, Jason when I was 29 years old. He had a beagle, Chester. It’s not that I didn’t like dogs before meeting my husband. I just mostly didn’t want dog hair all over me or want to get dirty if they jumped up on me. The thing is, because I was worried about that one thing that seems pretty silly now, I was missing out on so much. In my opinion after owning 2 dogs now, they are pretty much God’s most amazing creature. They truly are man’s (or woman’s) best friend.

We had dogs growing up but they were always outdoor pets, which is quite different than them living side by side and sleeping right next to you each night. When Chester became part of my life, I discovered how much love a dog can bring into your life and how they make you want to be a better person. Just like that, he stole my heart. Dogs are the most giving creatures. All they want to do is please you, even when they are hurt or not feeling well.

Four years after Chester came into my life, he passed away very abruptly. He got really sick one night in the middle of the night and passed away the next day. It was the hardest thing my husband and I had dealt with, passing away just 4 months before our wedding day and crushing both of us.

We dreaded coming home each night to an empty house without Chester there to greet us. There was no wagging tail and no hotlaps of excitement that we were home. It was a very rough few months to get used to life without Chester. It was even harder for my husband who had Chester for 9 years since he brought him home as a puppy. Life was so different now and it was so hard to say goodbye to him. To this day, it brings tears to my eyes thinking about losing him. I am balling right now as I write this. But as they say, time does help heal. A little... Or as much as you can heal from a major loss in your life.

To some people reading this, they will think "It's just a dog" and won't understand this. But for those of you dog lovers that have a dog or have lost a dog, you know the pain that comes from losing a beloved fur baby and how hard it can be to move on from this type of loss. They are more than just a dog. They are our part of our family.

Eventually, once we were ready we got another dog. A Boxer puppy and we named him Cooper. Over the last 5 1/2 years, he has again brought so much joy to our family and my 2 toddlers are so in love with him. We will pretty much always have a dog and Chester will always hold a special place in my heart.

Chester had a great life. He was pretty damn spoiled (and a little stubborn). But unfortunately, there are so many dogs out there that are not in great living situations. There so many dogs right here in the US that are starved, beaten, neglected and sometimes left for dead because their owners decide that they no longer want them. It truly breaks my heart and is not fair to these helpless creatures that want nothing more than to bring joy to your life. Many are surrendered to shelters but so many dogs are put down because they do not find owners in short window of time they are given.

There are many great organizations that help rescue dogs in need but I wanted to find a way to help. I hope that if you are a dog lover or know a dog lover, you will purchase a shirt. You can show some love for your loyal companion while also helping to support a great cause! Here is some info on the dog lover graphic t-shirts.

There are 2 differe
nt designs, each in 2 colors. The first design is a lettered design created by Scotty Russell of Perspective-Collective. He is a very talented artist and you can check out his work and podcast at The second design was created by our own Bombshell Fashion Boutique. You can purchase these shirts on our website and check out the newest arrivals at Launch offer for all 4 shirts of $24.99. 20% of the profits from all graphic t-shirts will be donated to the Cedar Bend Humane Society. You can use promo code DOGLOVER for free shipping for the graphic tees or we always offer free shipping on purchases over $35 with no code required.

All t-shirts are printed on Bella Canvas shirts. Bella is an amazing brand and I love that all their shirts are manufactured in the USA. The material is extremely soft and great quality. They are all professionally printed by Industry Print Shop in Austin, TX. If you are looking for a screen printer for any apparel, these guys were amazing to work with and I highly recommend them.

If you yourself want to find ways to help, you can volunteer or donate by contacting your local humane society. As I mentioned above, if you are looking to own a pet, you can also help by adopting a dog in need of a forever home. I promise although getting a new dog is challenging at times, it will bring so much joy into your life!
